The Society holds regular talks on a wide range of subjects. Usually every month, in London, the talks are given by speakers from the UK and abroad from the design disciplines, academia, authors, client bodies, manufacturing and many other areas. Normally free to members, others are very welcome for a nominal fee.
Other periodic events include visits to exhibitions accompanied by experts/curators, walking tours, visits to sign manufacturers, museums etc, indeed anything and anywhere that interests our members. We are also increasingly involved in seminars and symposia. If you have suggestions for speakers or places to visit we'd be very pleased to hear from you.
We also now have an archive of past talks and we're delighted to be able to give members exclusive access to the presentations, where these have been made available to us by the speakers. Please note the strict caveats on how this information may be used. Although of course never the same as being at the talks - clearly you don't hear the speaker or the questions and answers- we do hope those members unable to get to our talks will find this a useful alternative.
Periodically the Society runs an international Awards competition to celebrate the best work happening in sign and wayfinding design. A brief introduction to the last Awards is given here together with a link to the dedicated Awards website, where you can find more information.
