2020 – 2021 British Cartographic Society Awards: enter now!
The British Cartographic Society (BCS) runs annual awards to recognize the very best cartographic work and scholarship from around the world. Award winners across nine categories are traditionally announced at the British Cartographic Society Annual Symposium. With this year’s scheduled conference cancelled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been made to merge the 2020 and 2020 awards’ entries — the winners to be announced at the BCS Conference scheduled for September 2021.
Amongst the trophies and prizes presented to individuals and companies who have shown excellence in this field are: the Ian Mumford Award to encourage and recognize excellence in original cartographic research undertaken by university or college students; the Stanford Award for printed mapping; The Henry Johns Award for the most outstanding article published in The Cartographic Journal; and the prestigious Society Medal for distinguished contribution to cartography.
Entries now open for the 2020 – 2021 BCS Annual Awards. The closing date for submissions is 27 June 2021. More information on how to enter. (Note: any entries already received remain valid).
