The position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Wayfinding Designer to join our award-winning practice in London. With a keen eye for detail, coupled with a proven track record of delivering the highest quality wayfinding schemes across a range of sectors, the ideal candidate will be confident in providing leadership and support in the design, management and delivery of projects worldwide.

This role would suit someone who is at the next stage of their career and who has the drive and ambition to help grow our international practice. Working closely with our studios in Australia and New Zealand, we’re looking for someone with energy, a voice and enthusiasm to inspire the team and represent the company at all levels, coupled with the drive to continually push themselves and grow in a personal and professional capacity.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver and/or lead multiple design projects from concept through to site whilst adhering to design briefs,
    programmes and budgets
  • Undertake project and user research to develop design briefs with clients across a diverse range of sectors
  • Produce, supervise and deliver designs, drawings, schedules, guidelines and specifications at concept, developed design, tender and construction stages
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to co-ordinate and deliver designs
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and design reports to a high standard
  • Manage project budgets, programmes, risks and resources
  • Support the development and training of our more junior designers
  • Support business development opportunities including the production and delivery of proposals and marketing
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and develop technical and professional development skills

Skills and experience

  • Strong track record of managing and delivering complex wayfinding studies and strategies, including sign
    typologies, placement plans and content schedules
  • Excellent conceptual and strategic thinking skills with a user-centred focus
  • Strong graphic and artworking skills, including typography and composition
  • Experience of creating and working with design guidelines
  • Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills, with confidence at presenting work to clients and stakeholders
  • Experience working across professions and sectors, with partners such as Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape
    and Urban Designers
  • Ability to project manage and work across multiple projects
  • Conscientious and organised, with proven time
    management skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required, with CAD and BIM knowledge advantageous
  • Experience of working on global, multi-lingual systems would be advantageous
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); other languages would be advantageous
  • The role is based in our London studio with some flexible working
