Calling all members with WordPress experience – the SDS needs you!
Have you experience of designing/writing content for WordPress websites? Do you have a working knowledge of CSS/HTML?
The Sign Design Society website is evolving to meet the changing needs of our subscribers and the ways in which we communicate. For those of you who visit often, you will be aware that the website is being updated regularly with news articles and information to broaden the scope of industry professional and research assets available to members and colleagues working in the wayfinding, information design and signage fields.
Sian Kelly, Sign Design Society Chair, and our part-time administrator, Kate, are involved in the day-to-day content. However, richer, more diverse and regular posts for website visitors mean more work behind the virtual scenes and we are reaching a point where we need help, particularly with some of the more technical and design aspects of managing the site.
What we’re looking for is a volunteer with a little bit of ‘technical know how’ to be at the end of a phone or email when we need a little bit of help. So other than the initial time spent familiarising yourself with the website, we don’t envisage it taking up too much of your time, unless you wanted to get involved in the content side of things too.
Interested in finding our more about how you can contribute to raising the profile and promoting the benefits of sign design and wayfinding? Please get in touch with Kate by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the first instance.
